Place best side of ring gear toward starter motor, or up when facing the back flywheel measurement 168 tooth, 7 16 thick I fits Chevy motors v6, v8 using these measurements gear teeth are great easy to change vs. Place gear on back of flywheel and tap it down till seats.
Replacing complete flywheel at high cost simply heat ring gear all around with a torch, then tap off working it blunt flat chisel near the edge then cool down or put ice on it, torch oven. It does not need to be red hot.
