Being a good owner I consulted my Yanmar engine parts manual and discussed with certificated mechanic, after which ordered part number 1, received installed myself, very easy job. Instead of showing the correct pressure it pegged out gauge at top end scale 150 psi. I ordered the correct oil sender unit and installed. I discussed with the Yanmar mechanic who indicated that likely shorted it out during installation hard to believe since power was shut off, and should order another one, which blindly did.
Units were each around 100 dollars when new. I casually mentioned my dilemma to a diving buddy of mine, who is also marine mechanic. I now have two slightly used Yanmar oil sender units for sale, part problem solved.
